Initially it was to be able to read data supplied by customers for quoting purposes, now it is an indispensible part of the manufacturing chain.  It is used to implement design changes, to   create tooling and gauges, it has even been used to design machinery - all of which can be tested for feasability before manufacture.  All work is carried by fully trained and certified staff. In 2011, William Hughes bought a vertical machining centre and OneCNC CADAM  software to combat the escalating cost of outsourcing gauges and jigs.  Gauges can be built around customer parts in Catia and exported into OneCNC, where they are converted into machine code for the VMC.  Not only that but it will work out the most efficient way of making the part - saving time and tooling costs.
