Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance Donation

William Hughes has been a committed supporter of Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance (DSAA) for a number of years and is delighted to be helping towards the fitting out of the charity’s second helicopter with a donation of £1000.00.

On 26th May, the second helicopter touched down at Henstridge Airfield for the first time, marking a major step forward in the charity’s mission to reach more patients and save more lives.

DSAA provides life-saving critical care and rapid transfers for the most seriously ill and injured people across their Dorset and Somerset region. Their expert teams of consultant level doctors and specialist practitioners go above and beyond to deliver hospital-level treatment, directly at the scene of an incident.

Crews are trained to handle complex medical emergencies, offering advanced interventions such as blood transfusions, surgical procedures, sedation and anaesthesia. These interventions, combined with expert pain management, help stabilise patients in critical conditions, giving them the best chance of survival before they reach hospital.

Asked why William Hughes had chosen to support DSAA, managing director Max Hughes explains, "It’s good to know DSAA is less than a mile away from us.  You never know when their services might be needed!"

Says Erika Singh, DSAA’s Corporate Partnerships Lead, "I want to express our thanks to William Hughes for the amazing support they have given us since 2016 and for supporting our second heli appeal. As a local business, your backing helps us keep flying and saving lives – thank you so much".
