Howzat! We have a world-class cricketer in our midst

Emlyn Kuhn, Senior Buyer/Wire Sales at our headquarters in Dorset, has been selected to play for Zimbabwe in the International Masters Over 50’s Cricket World Cup to be held in Sri Lanka in February. The competition takes place in Colombo from 9-23 February 2025 featuring 14 teams in 45-over pink ball matches under ICC rules.

Born in Bulawayo, Rhodesia, now Zimbabwe, Emlyn moved to the UK at the age of 24, joining William Hughes in 2017.

No stranger to international competition, Emlyn has previously represented Zimbabwe in both cricket and rugby. He is a member of the Dorset County Cricket Over 50’s Squad, is a UKCC Level 2 Qualified cricket and rugby coach, is Player/Coach of Sherborne Cricket Club (Dorset Premier League), was Sherborne Cricket Club Player of the year in 2016, 2017 and 2018 and set the highest individual score of 180 not out against Chippenham Cricket Club in the West of England Premier Cricket League playing for Ilminster in 2005.

Small wonder he’s been able to knock our fine wire sales out of the park!

We congratulate Emlyn on his selection and wish him every success in the tournament. We will keep you informed here of Emlyn and Zimbabwe’s progress in the contest.
