Three new apprenticeships

Many future engineers have started their progress towards this goal with an apprenticeship here at William Hughes.

Our current intake comprises Scott Broadway (18), Jake King (17) and Benjamin Puddick (17). These three young men have joined us as Apprentice Machinists (Advanced Manufacturing Engineering). Over a period of four years, Scott, Jake and Benjamin will combine study days at Yeovil College, one of the top 20 best performing colleges in the country, with a comprehensive training in the design, build, service and repair of a range of engineering products and equipment. They will have the opportunity to spend time in all departments of the William Hughes Dorset factory learning about the coiling of springs, wire bending and welding, ultrasonic cleaning, grinding and the tool room. They will learn all the skills commensurate with supplying quality components for the automotive and aerospace industries.
